Ride For The Children
Ride For The Children is a benefit motorcycle ride put on annually by the volunteer "Ride Team" of Jodeco Road UMC. The proceeds from the ride go to the United Methodist Children’s Home (UMCH). The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness and funds for UMCH in their mission to provide homes for children and assistance to broken families.
The ride is usually last about two hours and meanders through rural, low traffic areas and parts of the National Forest. There is a comfort stop about halfway. When the riders arrive back at the church they will be treated to a buffet and live music. Other activities and attractions are, People's Choice Bike Contest, drawings for prizes, and a silent auction. Riders are encouraged to collect money for the UMCH in the days prior to the ride and a special prize is awarded to the rider turning in the most money.
When & Where: Annually the third Saturday of September. The ride originates and terminates at the church.
